Bring AI into your organisation. Properly.

Everyone says you need AI. I help you work out where it genuinely pays off, build it on secure foundations that fit the systems you already run, and bring your people with you.

The short version, in a few minutes.

The questions to answer before you spend anything on AI, and the three mistakes I see most often.

Sound familiar?

You're not the only one.

  • The board wants an AI strategy, and we don't know where to start.
  • We ran a pilot. It looked great in the demo, then went nowhere.
  • Staff are already pasting company data into free AI tools.
  • Every vendor says their product is the answer.
  • Our data is spread across systems that don't talk to each other.
  • We're worried about security, GDPR and getting it wrong in public.
How it works

Five steps. Join at any of them.

Some organisations start from scratch. Others have a stalled pilot or a policy gap. We begin wherever you are.

  1. Step 01
    Readiness

Where you really stand: data, systems, skills, security and culture. You get an honest, prioritised roadmap.

  2. Step 02
    Discovery

Find the two or three uses of AI worth doing, each with a clear business case, and name the ones to avoid.

  3. Step 03
    Pilot

A small, measurable trial on real data, designed from day one to make it into production.

  4. Step 04
    Production

Integrated with the systems you already run, monitored, secured and with running costs under control.

  5. Step 05
    Governance

An AI policy people follow, data protection, and defences against AI-specific threats.

Why it works with me

AI that fits the organisation you already have.

Built into your systems

20+ years with ERP, warehouse, EDI, CRM, EPOS and data platforms. AI only pays off when it plugs into the systems your business actually runs on.

Secure from day one

Security reviews, threat modelling, GDPR and PCI DSS are part of my day job. AI brings new risks, like prompt injection and data leakage, and I design for them from the start.

Your people come with you

Every project I deliver ends with workshops and training. A tool nobody trusts or understands is a tool nobody uses.

Independent advice

No vendor kickbacks and no platform agenda. Sometimes the right answer is a simpler tool, or no AI at all, and I'll tell you so.

What you get

Clear outputs, not a pile of slides.

A readiness roadmap

Where you stand, what to fix first, and what it's likely to take.

A use-case shortlist

The opportunities worth doing, ranked by value, effort and risk.

A target architecture

How AI connects to your data and systems, securely and affordably.

A working pilot

Real results on real data, with the numbers to decide what's next.

An AI policy

Plain-English rules on what staff can use, with which data, and how.

A confident team

People trained to use the new tools well and spot when they go wrong.

Proof

Billions of pounds, flowing through.

The ordering and inventory platforms I've authored have moved billions of pounds of goods and services, and multi-billion-pound companies rely on them for every order. For one wholesaler, I built a platform that takes in high-volume orders and routes every product to the best-priced supplier automatically, so orders that used to slip away were captured.

The lesson for AI

The biggest wins come from automating decisions inside the systems you already run, not from a standalone chatbot. That's where I start.

FAQ

Questions people ask

Something not covered here? Ask me directly →

Do we need perfect data before we start?

No. Very few organisations have it. The readiness step shows which data is good enough for which use, and what's worth fixing first.

We're not a tech company. Is AI really for us?

Often more than for tech companies. Some of the best returns are in operations, finance, customer service and logistics, where repetitive decisions can be automated or assisted.

Will you push a particular vendor or platform?

No. My advice is independent, with no platform agenda. I recommend whatever fits your systems, budget and skills, including tools you already pay for.

How do you handle security and GDPR?

From the first conversation. I've done security reviews, threat modelling, incident response and compliance work (Cyber Essentials, PCI DSS, GDPR), and I apply the same discipline to AI, including AI-specific threats.

Can you work with our IT team or existing supplier?

Yes. I'm used to working alongside internal teams and third parties. My job is to make the whole thing work, not to replace anyone.

How do we get started?

Book a call. We'll talk through where you are, and I'll suggest a sensible first step. That's often a short readiness assessment.
